Our Story

The Shed began with a simple chat between two locals who saw the countryside a little differently.
Jack, a lifelong Chidham resident and farmer, has deep roots in the land his family has cared for over generations. Practical and grounded, he’s also ambitious about the future of rural life. Where others might see an old farm building, Jack saw character, history, and the chance to create something new for the community he loves.
Joe, an entrepreneur with a background in Quantity Surveying and owner of his own gym, brought the spark. A fitness enthusiast with a restless drive, Joe thrives on turning bold ideas into reality. When he first stepped into Jack’s building, he didn’t just see a shed — he saw a stage for something fresh, fast-paced, and full of energy.
Together, they found the perfect match in padel — a sport that’s competitive yet social, active yet welcoming. With Jack’s roots and Joe’s vision, The Shed grew from a conversation into a club that’s about far more than just padel. It’s about connection, wellbeing, and celebrating the best of countryside life.
Set in the heart of Chidham’s fields, lanes, and coastline, The Shed is more than just a place to play padel. It’s a hub built on movement, connection, and pride in where we live.
A CLUB WITH PURPOSE.
Jack and Joe share a clear vision: to keep the charm of the countryside alive while giving people new ways to come together. Padel fits that vision perfectly — it’s fast, fun, and easy to pick up, but most of all, it brings people closer.
Whether you’re here to compete, learn, or just have a laugh with friends, The Shed is about more than sport. It’s about creating a space where everyone feels welcome, where community comes first, and where rural life stays active, social, and strong.
